This was my first time shooting at the windmills in Palm Springs. Back in 2018 when Seth and I drove by them I made a mental note to get a couple out there ASAP. I loved the way the light was hitting the desert floor and just REALLY wanted to photograph people within the windmills. Apparently though, you aren't actually allowed to get close to the windmills, which is fine. You can see them perfectly well from the side of the road and the mini dunes there. Besides in the age of covid and shooting on long lenses they do appear to be closer than they are in the photos.
This was my first shoot outside of the portraits Seth and I were doing in a few months and it felt SO GOOD to be able to shoot again. Even if it were 100 degrees and I had to wear a mask the entire time. Stephanie and Andre are also very photogenic so it made my job so much easier. Especially since yelling directions was a bit hard between the mask and the wind. I do love this session and I will remember it fondly that it was my first "covid" session once this whole pandemic thing is over.
