This wedding took place a few years ago at Berry Mansion in Frankfort. It was New Years Eve (the last NYE wedding I photographed) and the amount of excitement in the mansion was next level. For me the day did not start out that well. As I was packing my bag to leave I discovered my backup camera wasn't functioning. My roommate ran to the nearest camera store and bought another for me and then drove it all the way out to the wedding for me, thus saving me in case of another malfunction. This little incident is the reason I bought a third camera body, because you can never be to safe when it comes to these things. Also, bringing in 2018 in this fashion (with a broken camera body and stress - not the wedding itself) should have been an indicator I was in for a hell of a ride in 2018.
Last year when I was starting the rebrand process I started re-editing all of my old work for my website. I got through quite a bit, but then the pandemic happened and it sent me spiraling into a world of not being able to complete most tasks. I'm happy that I could pick it back up today though. Looking through these photos again makes me remember all of the excitement and love that happened at this wedding. The joy I can see and still feel looking at their faces makes me so happy. This truly is one of the best jobs in the world. You can't prove to me otherwise.
