THE GATHERING

LOUISVILLE KY, August 19th and 20th

a wedding photography posing & content workshop

The gathering is for the photographers that need a creative boost while finding community

WHY THE GATHERING?

Workshops are intentionally kept small so there can be more one on one action if needed. It also helps with the overwhelm that can come with attending a large workshop. I want everyone to feel comfortable and like they are getting the photos they want, and feel confident asking the questions they may have.

This iteration of The Gathering will have a focus on light usage and intentional posing. You'll see how I pose based on peoples natural movements and interactions, and see how I use that for natural editorial posing and light usage.

You'll be able to pad your portfolio a little more AND pose on your own, alone, so you have unique photos to show that no one else has. This has always been an important part of my workshops, so that each attendee walks away with something that's just theirs.

One of my favorite things about the Gathering is the community that is built from them. I have been able to witness friendships take root that have defied all of my expectations for workshops.

"If you have a chance to learn from Brandi, DO IT. I’ve done her mentorship and now her retreat. She has a way of cultivating community like no other! The entire week felt like I was hanging out with new friends but at the same time I learned so much. I can be pretty socially awkward but I was never made to feel left out and everyone made me feel like it was safe to be myself. I value everyone I met in the retreat and we have all kept in touch even after. I left with a fresh perspective and a feeling like I could take my business to the next level. It’s exactly what I needed and it’s why I’ll continue to go every time she has one."

"The care and attention that Brandi puts into her workshops are unmatched. Not only was the retreat a ton of fun, but it was also an amazing learning experience. Brandi went above and beyond even giving feedback on our images and individual hands-on examples on how to be more creative. She was always open for questions and her advice is so valauble. The whole experience was fun, supportive, and super educational. I also really appreciate how much Brandi cares for each attendee (things like dietary restrictions and individual needs were not a problem at all) Highly recommend!!!"

"I am not new to a workshop or retreat situation. The last one I went to was expensive and very egotistical. I felt awkward and unwelcome. The highlight of this workshop was that Brandi was a speaker. I was immediately drawn to her kind soul. It was almost a year later that I realized she held her own workshop and I jumped at the chance to attend. It was beyond amazing. I had little in common with the people there but I didn’t once feel like I didn’t belong. Brandi created such a safe and comfortable environment that we all meshed so well.

Her teaching was awe inspiring and made me want to create (said the burned out photographer) and the shoots she put together gave many opportunities to allow that creativity to flow. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Brandi or her workshop...I believe the fact that most of us have already booked a spot for the next one speaks volumes not only of her but of the environment she created. If you want to invest in yourself, this is the absolute best place to be and I promise you will leave feeling confident and inspired."

"I attended Brandi's creative retreat in the PNW and it was a boost of creativity and confidence. Brandi really takes the time to get to know you on a personal level, helps you push your creative boundaries and unleash your true potential. She shares her craft with so much passion, and answers ALL your questions with encouragement. She cares about other people. She gives you all the tools to empower you. She gives you support to have the guts to be different. To be apologetically YOU."
-Gaétane Glize

"I left Brandi's retreat feeling creatively rejuvenated. It wasn't a jam-packed, fight-for-your-shot kind of workshop. We moved at an organic pace and were able to each have our moment with the couple we were photographing. Watching Brandi pose and direct the couple was incredibly helpful. She created such a sense of community and I truly value every single person I met there. There's a reason we all signed up to do it again next year!"
