I realized today that I’ve never actually blogged any of the images from my Oregon Coast Retreats—which feels wild, considering how deeply meaningful those moments have been for me over the past few years. With the next retreat now on the calendar for February 2026, it felt like the right time to slow down and revisit one of my favorite shoots: a Cannon Beach elopement styled session that is one of my favorites from the retreats.

This particular shoot featured Maddie and Ethan, who you might recognize from my Louisville Palace session in early 2024. That shoot is actually where we met, and something about the way they handled themselves in front of the camera stuck with me. I invited them out for one of the retreats because I knew they’d bring that same grounded energy to the coast. And they did. They’re the kind of people who are fully present and who lean into every creative idea, no matter how wild. That’s exactly what we need when we’re searching for the right couple to come out with us as our models.

Cannon Beach has become a sacred place for me. It’s more than a scenic backdrop—it’s a place where time slows down, where the air smells like salt and pine, and where creativity comes back to life without pressure. Whether you’re documenting a quiet, windswept elopement or something more editorial and styled, the Oregon Coast gives you room to explore. It gives you space to remember why you started creating in the first place.

This retreat wasn’t just about taking beautiful photos. It was about reconnecting—with the land, with our craft, and with each other. I can’t wait to share more from past years, but for now, here’s a glimpse into one of my favorite Cannon Beach elopement stories.
