A Wedding in the Hoh Rainforest feels like stepping into another world. Located within Olympic National Park in Washington State, the Hoh Rainforest is known for its towering trees, lush green landscape, and thick blankets of moss that seem to cover nearly every surface. It is one of the most unique places in the United States to exchange vows and one of the few locations that truly feels untouched by time.

To reach the Hoh Rainforest, you’ll drive through the small town of Forks, Washington. For many people, Forks is instantly recognizable thanks to the Twilight series. Whether you’re a longtime fan of the books and movies or simply enjoy a fun pop culture reference, it’s hard not to smile when you see the signs welcoming you into town. The area has fully embraced its connection to the series, making the drive even more memorable.

Once you leave Forks behind and head deeper into Olympic National Park, the landscape begins to transform. The trees become larger, the air feels heavier, and everything takes on an almost magical quality. Sunlight filters through layers of moss-covered branches while ferns blanket the forest floor.

The Hoh Rainforest provides a setting that feels intimate despite the immense scale of the surrounding landscape. Rather than dramatic mountain views or sweeping overlooks, the beauty comes from the details. The textures, colors, and atmosphere create an environment that feels immersive and deeply connected to nature. After exploring the rainforest, we made our way to Ruby Beach for sunset portraits.

Located nearby on the Washington coast, Ruby Beach is one of the most iconic beaches within Olympic National Park. Known for its sea stacks, driftwood-covered shoreline, and dramatic coastal views, it offers a completely different landscape from the rainforest while still feeling connected to the wild beauty of the region.

The transition from the lush green forest to the rugged coastline made the day feel even more adventurous. As the sun began to set, the beach glowed with soft light while waves rolled in around the rocky shoreline. It was the perfect way to end the day and showcase another side of what makes this part of Washington so special.

A Wedding in the Hoh Rainforest offers couples the opportunity to experience two incredible environments in a single day. From the moss-covered forests near Forks to the dramatic shoreline at Ruby Beach, the Olympic Peninsula provides a wedding experience that feels equal parts adventurous, intimate, and unforgettable.

Shoutout to Nadine Berns for coming out and being my second photographer at this wedding.
