Do you ever meet people and you think, “I really need them to be in my life”? That’s what happened when I met Samm and Dave for the first time at their engagement session. Samm and Dave are some of the most genuine souls I’ve ever had the pleasure to encounter. They’re kind and artistic – which is honestly my favorite combination. I knew that their Stevans Estate Wedding (right outside of Boston, MA) was going to be a dream, and I was right.

This wedding is the perfect example of good DIY. They didn’t have a florist. They didn’t have a coordinator or planner. They did everything themselves. It was unique. It was beautiful. It made me crave having a bust with a flowing plant in it (which I still haven’t gotten). I think the simplicity of the day led to it being way more people focused than some weddings. We focused on emotions. We focused on their people. We focused on them. It was perfect.

The Stevans Estate is a hauntingly beautiful venue. I’ve photographed two weddings there now. One on a rainy day (this one) and one on a hot summers day. Both were immaculate. I have even considered hosting our own wedding there when we decide to have a larger event. I just feel like there’s so much more to discover on the grounds. So many more nooks and crannies to see. So many more beautiful spots for photos inside and out. I have so many ideas floating around for the place still. It’s one of the few venues I would go back to over and over again.
